To enrich our lunch break and help everyone relax, FOTEC launched a trial “Lunchtime Mini Reading Club” starting May 5. Every weekday from 13:30 to 13:45 on the 2nd floor exhibition hall, colleagues are invited to spend 15 minutes reading together, followed by a 5-minute stretching exercise. It’s a light and easy way to refresh the body and mind for the afternoon
Every day after lunch, the reading session is led by an HR colleague. Everyone sits together, reading along softly or listening quietly. The passage is short—just 5 to 10 minutes. The first reading materials are from the Seiwajyuku series, focusing on workplace growth, mindset, teamwork, and personal character. The first week’s schedule includes: The Great Learning, outlines of Six Essential Practices, and the table of contents of Twelve Management Principles. HR will lead the reading in the beginning and will adjust later based on feedback. Colleagues are warmly welcome to recommend good books to enrich our reading list.、
After reading, HR will lead a simple stretching routine that lasts no longer than 5 minutes. Easy movements help relax your neck, shoulders, and back after sitting for a long time. In just a few minutes, you can ease fatigue and feel more energetic. After the exercise, you can start the afternoon work with a relaxed body and a refreshed mind.
As a member of FOTEC, I truly feel the company’s care for our wellbeing. 15 minutes every afternoon may seem short, but it gives us a moment of calm in our busy workday. We gain new ideas from reading, and relax our bodies with stretching. This little activity really warms the heart.
